3TJ Shock Length?
I just got a 1992 3TJ in the States. I am very familiar with 1WGs but 3TJs are rare site over here. The 3TJ is fitted with an Ohlins, but I wanted to confirm the correct shock length. Does anyone know the eye to eye length for the factory 3TJ shock?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: 3TJ Shock Length?
can't remeber but it's a long shock. An Ohlins in one of these is a result .... just check it's not a Yam SP shock, they had a yellow spring and remote too.

Hi,
welcome to 400GB.
The standard 3TJ shock is 335mm between the mounting point centres.

Re: 3TJ Shock Length?
Thanks for the info! I had the understanding that the 3TJ had a longer shock than the 1WG (305mm). It is definitely an Ohlins damper which is why I wanted to verify the correct length. The previous owner said he had the shock modified (lengthened) to fit.
This brings to mind another question, does anyone know the proper shock travel? I assume the Yamaha spring length to be 180mm. Correct?
Guess I'll be on here a bit more now, as I ready my new toy for the track.
