Hi there guys, anyone running upgraded fork springs and keen to share feedback?
ie, spring rate, brand etc.
The standard progressive springs makes tuning sag impossible!

Its difficult as so few race the gixer in the UK and most go to a specialist and get them set up for rider weight. You are on your own my friend!

Which forks are you using, the fully adjustable ones or just the pre-load adjustable? How much sag are you getting at the moment? In my opinion I wouldn't worry about the static sag too much as long as you have a fair bit more on the front than you do on the rear, not sure on the best static sag settings on a gixxer but at a guess with no rider the front may be close to 20-30mm from full droop on the front and around 5-10mm possibly lower wheel travel from full droop on the rear. This is a guestimate from a race 125 setting.
If you are not getting weight to transfer to the front quick enough on corner entry try a bit more rear pre-load and tuning the front pre-load and compression damping to stop the forks bottoming out under braking. Will probably need a touch more rebound to reduce the increased spring back rate at the front.
I would only really change the springs if yours aren't that consistent, you just don't like the progressive feel or you are close to the edges of the pre-load ranges while still using a good amount of travel.
Hope that is of assistance. Will heavily depend on the type of riding you are doing and your style as to what set-up works. Don't be afraid to also play around with the tyre pressures a bit.
