UK vs jap spec head question

hi guys,
the latest in my engine saga is my new one arrived today. issue with it is;
both front head mounts are snapped off. I've spoken to the yard in question who are being very good about the whole thing. One option suggested by me is swapping the head off my blown engine (bottom end damage) onto this new engine. I have a sneaky suspicion that the engine is a UK spec one however as it has 2 chromed pipes which i think are for an oil cooler. Would this indicate that its a UK spec as my jap import NC doesn't have these.
I wanted to check that the heads are the same across jap and UK spec engines as i don't really want to get half way through this swap only to find that they are different somehow. Also to swap the heads over i'm assuming that all i would require is a head gasket. I cant think of any other parts or gaskets that i would require but if someone has any further knowledge please let me know.
Secondly is there an easy way of blocking off the oilways for the oil cooler as i don't have the cooler and would assume that they're like hens teeth to get hold of?
If anyone can assist me on this i'd be very grateful. I'm going to call the yard back tomorrow and speak to the boss so i'd like to be armed with info about whether the above points can be adressed or whether i'm better off sending it back to them and trying to find a replacement lump.

p.s. If UK spec engines are really rare let me know as i'd be up for a swap to the japanese spec one! Comes with carbs also.
