Clutch renewal..
I think that my clutch needs replacing as its starting to slip slightly when I have a pillion and am worried that it will go completly on my trip to germany..
Can anyone advise me on everything I need? I have the haynes manual which states thaat new washers and nuts are required.. where do I get these from? Ive ordered a used clutch basket and plates in good condition off ebay..
Thanks in advance..

Re: Clutch renewal..
they may look in good condition, but id not buy worn plates from anyone.
new plates, new springs. the basket should be fine from your bike. not sammat that gets replaced.

Agree with the lady... Would not buy used clutch from anyone..
You could sell yours...and you would put "good condition" too wouldn't you?
A trip abroad is ont the time to be concerned about your moto...you need it to carry you and if you are taking pilion too(?) then you are mad..lol

+1
On bits that can break or fail, always fit new. Why risk it?
At least then you've tried your best!

Re: Clutch renewal..
Put it this way - we race at the sharp end of a National 400 Championship and eat clutches for breakfast .... even used ones that measure OK can slip - it's the steels normally that warp on Honda 400s.
We fit new Honda plates - new Honda steels - new Honda inner baskets - new pattern heavy duty springs twice a year - fitting secondhand may not be a good idea on such a trip.

Re: Clutch renewal..
Graeme, have you tried the EBC kevlar plates and heavy duty springs off a cbr600? ive got them on mine and they work fine. The lever is a bit heavier but everything fitted fine and works ok.
Too many bikes, so little time!
