Newbie basic questions

I have an NC29, it was however sent skidding down the road by an incompetant car driver, so a new set of fairings have been ordered. I was however thinking about putting my own custom paint job on these. Nothing too complicated, just a matt black finnish with some CBR and Babyblade transfers. I have never done anything like this before, is it easy to do and how much preperation is needed for the pannels. Any help and advice would be greatly recieved.

Thanks

Probably not what you want to hear, but £400 would get you a professional paint job.

If you cant afford for a proffesional job for a matt black finish I would recommend getting some cans from halfords.. If I remember righlty a couple of other members have done this and it turned out ok... depends how good a finish your after I guess...

Thanks Durka, thats amazingly usefull. I may see if I can get in contact about a matt black finnish. I am now getting loads of great ideas popping in to my head as to what I can do.

heres mine done entirely with cans, some 7 year vinyl, a scalpel, and some custom decals from brooky (400gb member).
if you need any advice pm me and can help over phone if need to.
halfords is not always the cheapest for spray either. i have a local shop that for std matt, gloss and satin is only 5er a can and bigger than halfords, a mix they can make up for a 10er.
advice for custom decals is cut out with newspaper/thin white paper and tape to your bike first to get an idea of layout aswell as looks.
this was my first attempt,
