If the connectors are the same and the mounting holes the same distance apart then it'll work fine.

Unfortunately, I don't know if they are. I suspect that theres a good chance they will be, as most Yamaha reg/recs are basically the same size and connector. On my R1 I've had one from a R1, an FZR400 and a R6 so far

I'm not sure ... the 1WG sits on the frame rail above the swing arm bracing ... I think the the 3TJ is on the subframe.

The 1wg will use the fram as a heat sink whereas the TJ is air cooled - I'd try and stick to the same type for the bikes as the first thing you'll know about it failing could be blown headlights and bulbs or duff battery ... which are expensive

If you need one, I've got a spare 1WG reg rec knocking about, it's marked 4XV on the top

I had to get a new one for my 3EN1 FZR 400 and i ended up going to yambits.co.uk for £35 i got an RD500 reg rec and it works fine mate
