Re: Removing fly wheel
There's a stator coil and a rotor, which is what I presume you mean? To get the rotor off you need a special tool.
There's something like this listed on ebay, but I'm not vouching for it, never used one.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Sykes-Pickavant-U ... 7C294%3A50" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I do know that they can be a bitch to get off. Mine has just had the generator replaced and the mechanic had trouble with it, even with the correct tool.

Re: Removing fly wheel
the front wheel spindel fits the threads in the flywheel cover but you will need a impact wrench as well

Re: Removing fly wheel
That tool above is not the right one for the job.
The bar end weight fits but is very soft and will probably strip when you use it,
I got a flywheel/rotor puller off ebay for about £10 it's a cross shape with 4 different size threads on it but it was still a pig of a job with lots of heat & hammering needed to shift it.
Hope this helps.

Re: Removing fly wheel
The Flywheel is a bitch to remove ... but I thought we were talking about the other end of crank under the generator cover ...
I could be confused though

Re: Removing fly wheel
The coils are fixed inside the cover & the rotor is on the end of the crank.
