Hi Guys,
I need the help of the British population of the Forum and their mighty knowledge of the regulations and registrations in the UK.

I have actually an NC30 in France, which I'm really satisfied about. I would like to buy another one for my girlfriend, and the big problem is to find an NC30 with right Serial number to the frame so i can make the registration in france. I need a bike with NC30-20xxx or NC30-21xxx to do it.

There is my question :
I found Two frames with NC30-20xxx and NC30-21xxx as serial number, but they don't have any V5 or any papers.

Is it Possible to register them only as frame, without showing any bike?
Is there any way to get a V5 or registration document just with the frames?
if yes, How much will it cost and how long?

Thanks a lot guys^^ ;)
Hervé

Why does it have to have a 20xxx serial and a V5 rather than a 1xxx serial and a V5?

French type approval or similar?

Why not buy a UK bike, keep UK plates on it.... :ugeek:

Don't buy a frame without a V5. As far as DVLA are concerned ( the UK vehicle licencing authority) a frame is a vehicle. Get on ebay, there's usually a few on there.

yeah, i know about ebay.co.uk^^
but most of the frame on ebay are from Japanese grey import bike...... so i have to find a frame from a genuine UK bike to be able to make it registered in France.

The thing is that i found a genuine Uk frame but without any V5...... :(

You can apply for a V5 from DVLA but you need the registration number, the frame number only will not do.

I'm currently in the process of registering a classic scooter, every document I have relates to the frame number, you can't register a vehicle if it's not insured or passed an MOT.

In my case it's
MOT'd to the frame number
Insured as the frame number
Certificate of Origin to frame number

ID & £55 to register my vehicle & hoefully soon I will receive my 1965 plate.
