The rim tape on my wheels is peeling slightly on the bike i have bought...but it doesnt seem to want to come off??

What is the best fix? placing more rim tape over it??

If so, what size do i need to get and any recommended suppliers?

heat gun it and either remove one section and replace or replace the lot as its probably lost some colour and a new piece will be hard to match, or just get rid of it all together?

Yeah i have even used a hair dryer before just to heat the tape up and it should peel off easily. Pretty much anywhere stocks the tape and i think it comes in 6mm wide roles. I doubt you will get a perfect colour match as i expect your existing tape will be faded so i would do the whole wheel again.

Many thanks - sadly dont have a heat gun, so hair dryer might be the only answer. I will be aiming to take it all off..

the heated approach is the only way to get it off. alternatively you can douse the thing in nail polish remover as it breaks donw the adhesive and will make it easier to take off the sticky residue

Its fairly easy to apply. just take your time and make sure the wheel is perfectly clean and dry or you will have sticking problems.

Would it look awful if i put new tape over the old?

get down your local carboot sale on sunday mate, i picked one up for a quid, fully adjustable temp upto 180 degrees.

why dont people put their location in, it would be a lot easier to help them if we knew where they were, if your near mansfield i got a heat gun.
