due to the gd weather recently iv'e not really had a need to use the choke cable but while cleaning the bike the other day and it appears to be stuck and wont budge at all. any idea's on how to get it unjammed? not really given it much of a try due to work and hangovers. thinking wd40 and elbow grease.

mine was stuck open tried the wd40 idea and that seemed to get it moving, once it was moving properly i mounted a strong spring between the point where the choke cable is mounted on to the top of the carbs & the metal 'lever' the cable sits in, this ensures the choke does return to closed when you close off the lever on the left hand side of the fairing. i found i was closing the lever but the cable was not moving causing it to stick open.

well its jammed close so not really a problem as i can hold the throttle open. as soon as my fzr is back on the road il be stripping down the rvf to get all kinds of stuff done to it so might try that spring idea incase it eve jams open

just spray some wd40 down the top, leave it a few hours and spray some more then a few hours later go out and give it a wiggle and see how you get on

i had the same problem, tried to take the easy way out by penetrating oil and wiggling.
Now i need a new pair of carbs as i funked the choke mechanism on the carbs.
all you need to do it take off the tank, then the airbox, and the choke cable can to accessed from there and you can relube it from there, or else take it off
