CDI - Ignition coils - Signal generator - or anywhere in between, good luck.

I am not greatly familiar with the GSXR electrics yet but the I believe it is usually a magnetic pickup from the engine's flywheel (sends a signal to the CDI so it knows where the pistons are so it can sort out the timimg or something to that effect)

Ummm don't swear round here (although vfr was my 1st choice but couldn't resist a cheap Gix4!).
I have a 160 on mine.

You'll Be alright with either a 150 or 160 rear. Standard sizes are 120/60-17 Front, 160/60-17 Rear (GK76)

Get the carbs off and apart. Clean them out thoroughly, blow the jets through with an airline. Replace every single o ring on them you can find.
