right having some big problems with my front brakes. took the front callipers apart a while ago to clean and spray only broke them apart didnt remove the pistons or anything. now i have put them back together correctly but cant ge the damm things to bleed. have tried everything but the callipers just dont seem to want to fill up. there is fluid coming out the other end of the callipers as i pump but the lever is not getting firmer and pistons are not moving. i thought it could be a leak but there are no signs of this at all. can anyone tell me if this is a common problem or have my callipers just created a leak? also what torque should the 4 calliper bolts be done up to?

try bleeding them at the master cylinder,same method.

pump the lever a few times then slacken the banjo bolt whilst holing the lever.....

you should notice air coming out either with no fluid at first or bubbles in the fluid.repeat until the lever gets really firm which it should.

i had the same problem with mine and all it needed was the above.

You don't really need to undo the banjo bolt just leave the top off the reservior and gently move / squeeze the lever, any bubles will come through the fluid.

If this doesn't work and your not getting joy at the bottom you might have got an airlock in the pistons ... you'd need to break the calipers open again and free the pistons.

i tried this method and it didn't work at all....it was pretty useless to be honest.by all means try it first but i bet you will have to bleed it as above.

you can do it with a syringe aswell! fill the syringe with fluid and force it in through the bleed nipple, in effect reverse bleeding it this should get the air out then you can bleed them properly. or use a pump (like a fuel pump) to give it a good suck whilst pumping (cue mr evil!)
