Re: Found In Sump Any Ideas?
Thanks for the reply tractor, it's definitely not metal, some sort of plastic I am guessing. I have looked through all the parts pictures and can't see anything similar. Needs somebody who has rebuilt one of these motors to cast their eyes over it.
I should have put a scale in the pic, the diameter of the circle I have arranged the bits in is about 70mm.

Hi Gazz,
Never Seen a plastic ring,Like tractor sayz is it baked oil from a burnt clutch, it looks clutch diam, previous owner may have tried to pack a worn clutch with a plastic ring to stop slip enough to sell the bike on!

Hope it isn't a packer!! It appears to be that colour all the way through, I'll take a close up with a better camera tommorrow and post it up, perhaps somebody dropped it in by accident, whatever it is, when they did a rebuild!

That looks like it's worn on all the edges? Are all the pieces like that?

Re: Found In Sump Any Ideas?
Gazz, i d'nt think its suppose to be in the engine, was it the SP? maybe they are different than standard but i d'nt think so. Maybe they put it on the SP box or clutch but they d'nt usually put plastic parts in the motors. I not long ago rebuilt a gk73 and there is no plastic in the motor anywhere.

Chris, I feel the same, goodness knows what it is and after looking through the 76a parts diagram again I'm pretty sure it's foreign. Thanks for looking guys.
