Quick Question

Post by Ash_BCFC »

Wondering if someone can help me here..
I have to much free play on my hand controls (accelerator) and have been told that is the cables that need tightening!
But tbh I havent got a clue how to fix this problem.. and its a pain in the arse as when u turn the throttle, for a small amount of time nothing happens! =[
All advice would be really helpfull and appreciated!
Thanks all!

hello-

there is 2 ways to adjust the throttle cable freeplay.first of all the throttle cable freeplay should be between 2-6mm so check it is outside this limit before trying to adjust it.

if it is outside this limit adjust the cable at the throttle side first, you can also adjust the cable at the carbs but this is only if the adjustment at the throttle end has been fully used.

to adjust it at the throttle end slacken off the locknut and turn the adjuster until you have the correct amount of freeplay, then tighten up the lock nut.

please,god,....give me the chance to prove that winning the lottery won't spoil me!!!

Got round to have a look today...
When looking i noticed two cables for the throttle.
Which one of the two cables adjusts the play on the trottle grip?
Thanks again..

the top one. the top one is the one that opens the throttle.
the bottom one is the one that closes the throttle.
