Hi there!
Have installed a foam air filter to the gk76a and plan on putting a straight through pipe on it for racing.
Question: what jetting are you guys with similar set-ups running?
ie, needle position, main jet, fuel screw
cheers

Hi,
You got any photos as a little unsure of what you mean, most the guys are using a K&N in the air box.

I have edited my post. Meant foam air filter.
Anyway, point of my post is to ask what jetting you guys are running for what modifications. Im assuming airbox mods and pipe swapping are common, so what jetting specs are being used? Any base to start from would be much appreciated. :)
I will put up a pic for those interested in the foam air filter though! I just raised the needles two clips and it now revs. It would run out of fuel with the needle in the standard position. I suspect the main is a bit lean though. After I put a race pipe on it, it will need a big step-up in main jet. but what main jet's to start at? thats the question
regards

Hi,
I run a modded Bandit4 and the mains are 110, if i remember i had to drop the needles 1 notch and went up a couple of sizes on the pilot jet, the gixer is similar. I think the standard jets for mine are 102 and yours are 100 so this could be a place to start. You could get 105's and 115's to cover either side.
Chris.

Cheers Chris,
by mods do you mean K&N and pipe?
I had a look at the factory pro kit for the GSF400 and the kit supplied 110 and 112's by memory. The rf600 kit had 115's so maybe somewhere in the middle? Mind, Im only running quite open foam in front of the airbox intake, so maybe need more fuel?
I suppose the next question is, how much do the bandit and gsxr engines differ?

SU-7592 K&N.
Scorpion race can.
GK76a SP.
I'm in the process of setting up the carbs. Standard main jet is 100. I'm going to try 112's and drop the needle by one.
I checked the archived section of the forum. Others were running 112's or 114's main jets. Stripes recommended starting at a 120 main jet and coming down. Or starting at 110 and going up...

Hi J,
120's sound big, You will be close with the 112's and if the bottom end gets boggy you may need to up the pilots a couple.

Hi there!
Awesome info thanks!
How is the archived material accessed? Having searched the current site, nothing came up. I take it this is a recently "revamped" site?
Yes, after some thought I was thinking along the lines of 110/112. If I started at 110 and its still lean I can get a jet drill kit to gradually take the jet size out.
Would rather the main's be richer than leaner, as this is a racebike and its gonner spend most of its life in or at the red!
Thanks for the replies!
