Can anybody help??? I just bought a HRC CDI for my rvf400. But before i go plugging it in i need to be 100% sure its compatible, or does it need the HRC loom??? or even can the orginal loom be modified?? I've only got the standard loom on the bike. Thanks!!

Are you 100% sure??? I know its the same connector, but somebody told me it might have different pin connections? Would there be an advantage using a HRC loom??
Thanks!

Yep, 100% sure.

The HRC loom will not have ay charing circuit, sidestand cutouts and that kind of stuff on it.
The CDI raises the advance and rev ceiling on the bike and several people on here have one fitted...and as far as I am aware not a single person has an HRC loom...

:ugeek:

Someone else ith an RVF and an HRC CDI will be along soon to confirm the situation..

This is 400cc guru territory..lol 8-)

Do you lads know what the main advantages are of using this HRC CDI. Will I notice a higher power output?? higher revs? should anything be done to the engine to use it? I just gave her a good service, new oil, plugs, filters etc..

Slight boost in mid range power, very slight up top but 500extra RPM at top end so hangs onto power longer so feels stronger.
Works best when used with full exhaust system and some carb fiddling.

(sorry Mark, just left that one wide open for me)
