I think it's best to drop the front end in complete, afterall the blue spot calipers are better than the standard TJ stuff (and the standard TJ won't fit the forks) and the brake discs have a wider internal dia so you need it all really.
I think the forks are a bit long and stick through the yokes almost touching the screen

You will be better looking for a good set of sp forks, direct replacement and fantastic performance. Plus if you fit r6 forks you will have all sorts of issues setting them up to work well.

Or a later Suzuki RG250 front end.
But this accedemic the RR forks aren't so bad for road riding if they're set up ok. You could probably do with new springs and heavier than standard oil.

hagon do progressive springs for bout £65 and 15w fork oil works well! you can drop the yokes down the forks a few mm to sharpen up the handling if you really want (did on race bike)but for the road probably not needed! as the evil master says, properly set up they will do you well!

BH it seems you've had the same idea I have.
Evil do you need the yokes too?
And do they fit straight on?

I have just modded a set of rr forks with 1997 zxr750 fork springs and 15weight oil feels great,
I supply progressive forks for £60 includes oil and postage too... Pm me if you ever need some...
For the road i dropped the forks down 5mm and 10mm for the track.. :D :D :D

I think the RG bolts straight up .... there was another thread with them mentioned. If not you can get the TJ steering stem pressed in.
But really the RR forks with an overhaul are fine and you don't need to get a wheel or calipers .... or even try to sell the ones you've got. Dropping the forks is great for quicker steering, but not so good in London or where the roads are potholed cos you don't want to bottom the forks if you can help it.

That would be the VJ22 RGV with upside down forks.
Mine is all ready to fit, except for the wheel currently being powdercoated and I need to sort out the lockstops...

metal putty stuff is good for extending lock stops if you need too! dries rock hard and you can mould it to the shape so it looks like it's always been there!
