NC24 fork rebuild

Hi guys
Been away for a bit cos I was too stupid to be able to sort out my username/password after the move last spring
I have been lurking though
So, I'm about to change/refurb some replacement forks on my NC24. Now I once had a copy of the guide that someone from here had written up, sorry can't remember who. I've tried the search but it returns so many options that I'll be here till next week filtering though them...........so can some nice person point me in it's direction, please?

Okay so no one rembers that article, nevermind.
Right, the stanchions are painted, a tube has been swapped and hopefully I'll have my hands on a replacement caliper for next weekend, the re-build will commence, couple of quick question to be asked first...
Are the main springs progressive units as standard on the 24?
I'm replacing the fork oil with 15wt stuff (in an attempt to stiffen the unit), but what should the air gap be?

When I had my nc24 I thought one of my better mods was to fit heavier duty springs.I got them from Maxton.I had to tell them my weight,the number of coils,the diameter and the length of the original spring and spacer.I had preload adjusters on mine rather than the original air valves.If you do have the original fork tops with the air valves do not pump air into them or you run a serious risk of blowing the fork seals

I have 15wt, it helps.
The forks on all honda bikes of this era are 'soft' though, I remember the VFR750's being the same.
Air is 8-11psi if you wanna put some air in them, although i've heard a few people say it can shorten the life of the fork seals... I have 8psi in mine.

Cheers Duncan, I'd go with the heavier springs but it's the other halves bike so it'd be a bit like a plank for her if I got the springs to suit me

Hi Neo, yep have gone for the 15w stuff on other VFRs (750s) and it does help.
Thanks to the both of you on the pressures but I wanted to know the air gap when the forks are refilled, I've subsequently found it should be 90mm, agree/dissagree?

Air gap? I'm not following.
These are off the top of my head, i'll 2x check when I get home..
Fork Oil Qty:
389cc (right) / 392cc (left)
Fork Oil Level:
90mm (check it from the top of the tube without spring / fully compressed.
