My rad is loosing its paint and looks tired. Hammerite or exhaust paint is the better option. Never used either before so will i need to use primer?

I did, I just used what ever primer I had knocking about in the garage, I think it was plastic primer.
Then I just used Normal paint from a can. It was mondao grey I think.
That was 2 years ago and all is good.

i pait stripped it back then used hamerite smooth black which has lasted the whole winter pritty well, used every day cacked in salt etc and still no corrosion

I've used hammerite primer then VHT BBQ spray should be good for the temp the rad gets up to. Not tried and tested yet as the bike's not even up and running yet
