I have an Imported NC30 which i bought privately recently, it did have the 33 hp restriction fitted to it which i have now removed (Washers in the intake rubbers ). it has a an aftermarket end can fitted to it as well, i plan to rejet the carbs very soon, so i was just wanting to know the best main jet sizes to fit. the air filter is standard although new. Thanks..

118 front and 120 rear seems to be the best base setting.

what model nc30 is it?

r3k/r3l/r3n.....

as viper say's 118/120 will be a good starting point and probably spot on.

Thanks for this, a local shop recommended as much as 127.5 ! jet size in the front carbs and 122 - 124 in the rear carbs, but i came away thinking that they would be too big. The Bike is on a K plate 93, i just need to check the Reg Documemnt to confirm the exact model

the easiest way to tell is with the engine number or frame number.........

with it neing on a 93 plate it is more than likely a r3n model, the later type with the fully adjustable front forks.the only reason i mentioned this is because the earlier r3k model has smaller main jet sizes than the r3n/r3l so you may not have to go as big as 118/120.

r3k model eng no:nc13e-1200000 frame no:nc30-10000

r3l model eng no:nc13e-1300000 frame no:nc30-105000

r3n model eng no:nc13e-140000 frame no:nc30-110000

just to give you a better idea mate.

Thanks william, the frame number is NC30 110000, and you are right it is a r3n model i will wip the carbs of at the weekend and check to see what jets are fitted. i have also noticed in heavy rain, it feels as if it running on 3 cyclinders at times the only way to clear this is to open the throttle and let the engine revs build up and then it seems to kick back in. its as if the H.T. leads or coils are shorting out. this problem only happens in heavy rain conditions. runs fine in the dry. Thanks.
