Hi guys any chance of someone giving me a quick guide on how to remove the collector pipe on my nc24 please? i have read that the engine has to be removed is this true? also is the nc30 collector the same /similar if not what are the differences and why wont it fit.
Also last question i promise

Re: nc24 collector pipe removal
Yes the engine has to be removed mate, here's a guide that I found which was very good.
http://www.dunc.freeuk.com/bikes/nc24/nc24.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Just go to the bottom of the page and click on the link for engine removal and you will find a step by step guide to do the job.
And no the nc30 will not fit as it's totally different,IE. It's on the wrong side, no room for it on the nc24 and it would not match the engine anyway.
An nc21 collector box will fit but it would make the rear pipe sit a lot lower down and would look crap imo.
As for the engines the nc24 has a 180 degree crank and the nc30 has a 360 degree crank. So very different engines.

No probs. It's handy if you can print each page out then put it into a wee folder with those plastic pockets to keep it clean then you don't need to run back to the computer every now and again...lol.
I've stripped my nc24 twice now using this guide, 1st time to repair the collector box link pipes to the front pipes then 2nd time to repair the rear pipes at the u bend only this time I made the lot in s/steel tube with a plate welded onto the front of the collector box, What a job that was,lol.. :D :D :D

Re: nc24 collector pipe removal
Or you can do what I did with my collector.
Chop the down pipes where it meets the colelctor and replace them with stainless steel tubes.. that way you don't need to remove the engine / exhuasts when taking the sump off :-)
