Hi there, Just bought a NC21 for the girlfriend and have been out for a ride today and found the handling does not feel right, Does anyone know what the tyre pressures should be, also the fork pressure as they are both at zero. any help would be very greatful.

Hi thanks for the reply, the tyres look quite old but ok, I have set the pressures to 32 in the front and 36 in the rear, I have set the fork pressure at 15 psi and it lifted the front by about 1 " the bike now feels much better but would still like to know the correct figures. The tyre pressures on my VTR makes a big difference to the front end feel so would like to get the vfr a bit sweeter, its a great bike with a fantastic engine and I think she will love it.

Tyre pressures are correct but the NC21 didn't have air adjustable forks IIRC, only the NC24. Does it have a single sided or traditional swingam.
And air forks are 8 - 11psi... any more and you will blow the fork seals sharpish.
It is recommended to leave them at zero and use 15w fork oil but the front end is notoriouslly soft on these bikes whatever you do with the standard forks.
What tyres are on there?
Should be 100/90/16 Front
130/70/18 Rear
BT45's are prob the best all rounder.
If you check the DOT code on the tyre (4 digits on their own somewhere on one side usually) the four digits correspond to Week / Year.. ie my rear is 1606, which means it was made in 16th week of 06.
If your DOT code is 3 digits it means the tyres were made in the 90's and i'd just junk them as they'll be old and weak.
