So the standard is a YTX7A-BS
Would a beefier battery help if im running total loss (race bike) (this is kinda related to my thread in the workshop, just wondering if perhaps my batt cant handle redlining under load)?

What is everyone else running?

Im getting a new one anyway, but if otheres are running something beefier i'll try one of them instead

The biggest that will go in a standard battery box is the YTX9 - Quite a few poeple use them for road bikes.

I would have thought a std YTX7 would have been fine... we have people running 2 and 3 amp batterys running total loss.

i run a 9amp battery on mine but i'm sure you could use a small scooter battery, my mate has a tiny battery on his kit spec sp1, ok for club racing

if your battery is fully charged then it should last for quite a while as to produce a spark it barely uses any power at all.

what really drains the battery if there is any charging issues is using the lights etc.

so as cm says the standard battery should do the trick for running total loss.rick oliver supplies a battery that is suppose to hold a charge for much longer,it is idel for running total loss systems.
