think you might have made a mistake by paying to only get them painted, did you look at how much more for powder coat? im on a budget but used super enamel under coat X2 and 3 coats enamel over but this far from ideal on wheels that get chipped easily.

water based paint is shit for any sort of bike part, my mate had his formula 2 sidecar done in water based paint and it chips dead easy, he only done a season and it looked like it was 20yrs old,

Water based paint still has 2pak lacquer on top so their shouldn't be any difference in strength.
Only cars have to be painted in water based paint ,motorcycles and commercial's can still be done in solvent.
Water based won't like being masked off I recon theirs more chance of fogging it.

Black fogged into White could have used aerosols with a 2pac lacquer on top.

White on your wheels is a bit OCD isn't it ? :poke:

2pac spraying is a specialist job as breathing app. is required, for DIY fetch a rattle can from Halfords much less hazarsous.

decent paint shop should be able to air brush the fade in
