I have the vfr up on the abba stand, and i can't seem to keep the front up in the air without putting weight on the back. Is there a way i can keep the front end up without a front paddock? or headstock support?

Just put a flat bit of wood on the jack head to spread the weight over the pipes. Done this many times with no damage.

In that case, use a piece of wood that fits between the pipes and take the weight on the sump.

You can get the wood to sit on the right side sump points, so you don't have to touch the exhaust. I cut slits into the wood so dropped straight on, no worries. :D

When i did my forks i just got someone to hold the back of the bike down and put a plank of wood under the headstock, in the little crevice behind the bottom yoke. Slot the plank in there and let the other end sit on the floor! Just make sure to cut it to length! The centre of gravity is only just in front of the swingarm pivot so it doesnt take a lot of force to prop the front up... i wouldnt worry about damaging anything too much, however you want to prop it!
