Probably a stupid question, but im still learning!

I filled my oil up on monday to the correct marker and now my clutch biting point is right at the end of the levers movement.. quite awkward to ride now.. Can this be adjusted? or does this mean my clutch is on its way out? Bit odd how it changed after adding oil?

Also my clutch was sticking in the mornings preventing me from starting the bike until it free'd up.. now it seems fine..

Just had a quick search and found that it may be a stretched cable that needs adjusting..

on my NC29 i always have to pull the clutch in and wait for the plates to free up before i can put it in gear.. esp if the bike has sat longer than 4hrs!
why? i have heavy duty clutch springs which push the oil out between the plates when sat for a long while.
once the plates have separated i can go as normal. apparently this is a trait of the NC29 with heavy duty springs. its now part of my start up regime.

as to it changing, worn cable. adjust from lever end AND down at clutch end. dont adjust it too much or you'll get clutch slip.

heavy duty clutch springs? are these used when the clutch starts to slip to prolong the life? or do they help with shifting or something?

you can get heavy duty springs if like me you ride loads and want the clutch to last a long time.
if you ride on weekends. get normal springs!
try adjusting 1st..

so by down at the cluth end you mean towards the casing and away from the lever?

yep.. but adjust the lever end 1st.. then the other end of the clutch cable where it goes in to the engine casing.
your aiming for a happy medium between the 2 locations... one way of doing it is to turn lever screw once, turn other end adjuster nut once.. test bite, adjust lever end, then other end. test bite.. and so on..

maybe I will be needing a new clutch soon.. its not slipping but cant seem to adjust it so that the biting point is in the middle.. its still right at the end of movement which can cause 'jerky' shifts..

on mine its set 1/4th in before it starts to bite.
i had the cable removed and oiled in the service, it wasnt set back where i used to have it but i got used to it where it is now.
