Chassis numbers

Post by VFR..Al »

Might be getting an NC30 on Saturday,it is an L reg but i have looked at some info on the net and i can't tie the chassis number to the year! Its a jap import and i don't know what year it was actually made and if it was imported in 1994 and just given an age related plate. The chassis number is NC30-1106344......Any ideas/help would be appreciated guys ;)

Have a look in the seat unit - take off the pillion seat. You should see the honda code of the bike if it stil has o/e fairings.

1989 - VFR400RR (K)
You then have L, M etc to age it.

110 would say late bike - think Haynes book of lies has something in it?

Both mine are 1000something

This number tells it should be officially an "late spec-N" (with year of production in japan from 1992-on) N-type came in 3 different paint: scheme type 6, 7 or 8 (last one also known as OKI-tricolor). Hope this helps.

The reg plate does not oftern relate too closely to the UK reg age of a bike. Don't worry about it -a long as it is sound, the reg rec is OK and there are o/e fairings on a newer bike then you are laughing.

Have a look in the paint schemes in the V4 section to see if Micpec has pointed out your scheme.
