Rejet your carbs?

All sorts of crap would have been sucked through them from starting it up with dirty fuel

Plus one for the comment above. Also while you have the tank and airbox off make sure the choke cable has full range of movement. Also get your battery charged up fully as to give the motor its best chance of starting

how well did you clean the carbs?if you cleaned them really well and thats including the jets, then the jets are not your issue.

Any NC24 owner will tell you how notoriously difficult they are to start after being left standing.

I started mine up last week after it had been standing for just 1 month and almost flatted the battery completely.

Make sure you hoses are all good, vaccumn hose to the petrol tank especially.

Fresh fuel will help no ends if you havn't put any stabilising solution in it.

FULL choke absolubtly NO throttle at all untill its running, crank it for 8 - 10 seconds and leave it 30 - 45 seconds and try again, this will allow fuel to drain from the tank to the carbs to the engine.

If you use any throttle while trying to start it there is a good chance it won't even fire up. Once its firing give it a tiny bit of throttle and then gradually a bit more till its warm, you should be able to knock the choke off after arounds 30 seconds :)

Good advice from Neosophist there

NC24's are ridiculous bikes

Worlds apart from most other bikes out there :D

Good luck though, keep us posted on your progress :)

I find each machine requires a slightly differnt technique to start. My nc24 will start on the button given a slight blip of the throttle but my cbr6 just throws a paddy! A little trick i learned when kart racing was to choke the engine up yourself by covering the air intake. A little tricky on a bike i know but if youve got the airbox off just hold your hand over the intlet of one of the banks of carbs and see how she goes
