FZR400 1WG

Post by Flymo »

Hello
I know this is a bit cheeky on my first post

I have a FZR400 1WG ( E reg )sitting in My garage and I have had every intention of putting back on the road but as with most things I have not got the time to do this ( the bikes been in there for the past 5 years! )

So I am trying to deceide what is the best thing to do, Sell it complete or break it for spares?

The bike is complete and I did run around on it for 6 months before laying it up, It has been down the road at one point and the fairing has been replaced with a fibre glass one which has also been damaged and there is some marks on the rear plastics.

but everthing is there and all it really needs is a new set of plastics and some tlc, I think I might have the V5 somewhere all though I have moved home twice since owning the bike so god knows where it is.

What would you chaps do? sell it complete or break it?

Regards

Mark

TLC is a simple enough thing to find - the plastics aren't !!!

It sounds like a Genesis (with no exup), they aren't worth much as a non runner with no T+T so I'd try to get it running again. You say you laid it up well a bit of spray 3in1 oil down the barrels, clean the carbs, new filters, oil, battery and fuel and see if it runs. Then MOT it and sell it.
Might cost you £50 to get it going but it would be worth it. Not really worth much without it.
