Value of an RVF...

I think I have a 'want' for an RVF. Not to replace my VFR, but to accompany it, but I'm less knowledgable on their value as what I would be on a VFR. Even after all the work and upgrades I have on my VFR, I'd dare say it wouldn't reach any more than £2-2500 with the extras included. What sorta price tags are on RVFs? I'd imagine something between £1500-£2500 dependant on condition. I'd not be looking a minter, but a dog is a definate no-no. Would £2k be too much?

Also, has anyone any back to back knowledge of the bikes ie does anyone own both? Now I have ridden VFR's and RVF's but not in the way I would if it were mine so that's not a great comparison. Wht are your thoughts?

I've been looking at this quite a bit and £1500 is as cheap as I've seen complete, roadworthy bikes worth having. For that price you will have to accept that the bodywork will need attention.

For £2000 I have only come across 1 advert for a bike that I'd say was a genuine 'excellent condition'. The rest want at least £2500.....

£3500 is not unknown for a mint, late low mileage RVF

I'm told by a guy who has had 2 NC30s and an RVF that the RVF handled better, had a comfier seat and better bar position....but that was just 1 guy...so who knows!?

RVF can be had for cheap and as long as you don't mind tatty bodywork then you are rocking for £1500.

I would prob go for the cheap and tatty and then become an ebay whore for the panels to replace any knackered ones.

I sold my RT model for 3k about 6 months ago, wasnt mint but very good and wanted for nothing.

I think 2k will get you a decent one altough i have seen a few bargins go for less

I paid £2100 nearly 6 years ago, so I'd say that they seem to keep their value at around the 2k mark, at least those that are pretty much standard and in decent condition.

I still had an NC30 when I bought my 35 and tried them both extensively for about 3 months; from what I recall, the 35 felt lighter & a bit smaller overall and the riding position didn't feel as radical (a touch more upright)! The other thing that 'hits you' instantly is the gearing; the 30's 1st gear was a bit of a pain in town, compared to the 35's shorter gearing!

This auction ended 2 days ago; it didn't sell, but if you ask me that, is a very well priced 1997 totally standard RVF, which appears to be in mint condition!

It depends on what you want from it though; if you want it to be all pretty as well as functional, you may be better off getting one like the one on the link above! :)

ABRmoto has a rvf for sale, with all it's bits and at £2200 it's a bargin, all you need is some road fairings and some lights.

Bike - 2200
fairing - 350
lights - 100 est.
mirrors - 20
dvla reg, no plate and tax - 100

total - 2800 approx.

Ok it sounds like a lot but with all those trick parts it's a steal
