just a quickie:

I was under the impression on the nc30 that the chain adjuster did full turns, so in theory you could adjust the chain by turning the adjuster in either direction and eventually it would tighten the shain up, iv just been adjusting my chain and its got to the point were the tyre was diggin into the carbon hugger then stopped turning it turns back the other way so its not jammed

I did about 3/4 of a turn of the adjuster in this direction and im sure i could take a link or two out of the chain and allow more space to stretch in the future, is this a good idea to do? also il be p[laying around with gearing for racing so is it best to have as many links as poss?

Hi Spike has the sprocket teeth gone past the guide marks on the swing arm.If so you need a new chain.Hope this helps.

The adjustment on the hub for slack to tight is only a few mm matey. not 3/4 of the wya around!

You need to be careful you have not turned it so far round that it is upside down!

the hugger will get a grinding if so which is not good.

ref changing sprockets etc - don't worry about it yet - what have you got now?

Aren't you going to need to get it on a dyno and get some spare carbs for when you whip the restrictors out and get racing?

no i replaced the chain and sprocket a matter of weeks ago, its just i thought the hub adjuster could do full turns, it seems mine stopped at a certain point, dw iv just turned it the other way, was just wondering if there is a stop on it or if you can turn it either way to tighten it up

at the mo iv got renthal 520 guage standard gearing and tsubaki o ring chain, and when the restrictors come ou there out for good (basicly whenever i have the time to do it now) then il get the bike setup and go racing, dosnt look like il be able to afford a system
