PISS TAKE OR WHAT..!

Post by Q007 »

My bike developed a intermittent knock coming from the back end somewhere, so I stopped into a Bike garage owned by an old Lady friend to ask some advice, her Mechanic said he'd take a quick look, so brought a stand out popped her up on it n spun the back wheel. Found the problem straight away, said it's what's called a locked link in the chain (alink that is seized) wich is a bad thought as clean and oil my chain (after church) every sunday. He said it's not a big deal n he'd free it up in a jiffy (great Bloke i thought). After melting the orings out of it with a blow lamp, whacking it with a hammer, gauging the f*&K out of it with pliers n screwdrivers. He finally kinda got a bit of movement back into it but no where near freed it as the other links are. The fkin cheeky supposed to be friend of mine Girl owner of the garage charged me £40 for his services. Let's just say WON'T be taking my bike there ever again.

think a new chain is only about £70.

i had this same problem with my 125,everytime the link went round the rear sprocket it would make this knocking noise.

i checked eveything before finall realising what it was.replaced the chain and happy days!!!!

you should have told him not to bother, any problems like that with the chain you are better of replacing it....chances are it will happen again sooner rather than later.
