NC30 Not starting

Hi, need some help as i cant seem to get the bike started.

All that happens is the starter turns the engine and every 5 secs it'll go a little faster than the motor and eventually back fire (which i must say scared the s**t out of me). I checked all the wires and connecters, kill switch, fuel line and even the air filter but nothing.

Sorry for lack of information, i really need to get a multimeter

hello-

the fact the starter is turning for a good length of time means your battery is not dead, also there is enough power to turn the starter.the backfire also indicates fuel is getting to the cylinder and also a spark to ignite it.

what seems a little strange is the starter turning over and getting faster........is the starter definately turning the engine the whole time?

take out the plugs and see how good of a spark you are getting!!!is the choke working?

cheers, i'll have a look at the choke but when i said it goes faster i mean it runs on it's own power a little bit.

I had a problem once, it started badly ran briefly for a few seconds and died.

I found i had a float stuck open on my carbs and fuel was dropping into the sump, just a thought. If you take off the cap off on the right hand side on the engine to show the timing marker thing you might be able to tell.

I'm not saying it is the problem, but it's just an idea :scared:
