NC 29 400RR Exhaust mapping.
I have myself a 1194 running NC29!! (and saw this site featured in the superbike article two days after i brought my bike!!)
Well anyway I won't be doing much to it apart from replacing all the rusty bits in sight, the clutch is wearing, but i think its got a good year on it yet.
The only really things im doing is fairing, bolts and polishing, BUT.
I hate exhausts on one side, no matter what i am told, or what you belive, i hate them, they put me off, and weather it really does off balence me, it feels like it!:(
I was either thinking, of having twin exhausts, or having one central under the seat, i would prefer this, but i think it would be a more costly option due to faring modification needed!!
Any tips/oppinions on the matter will be greatly apprichiated!, pictures beneath.

Underseat exhausts are exspensive to get made and look shit because of the way you have to rout the pipes up and around the gullarm, fitting SP1 style exhaust again you will have clearance issues because of the swingarm.
Both types have been done and add weight and neither will improve the performance of the bike, and IMHO look pretty poor.
The standard system is heavy but for the money a custom system will cost you could probably get a Ti beet system and carbon can which would weigh about the same as the standard can alone.

I have also thought about underseat exhaust.
1. There is not too much room to fit pip under rearset.
2. It increase clearance and weight.
3. Looks like it will also affect performance

With K-Conversion fairing is looks perfect.

2. The whole idea of the gull arm is to create the neccesary ground clearance for the exhaust ?
An underseat exhaust will definately increase weight as it requires miles of uneccesary pipework due to difficult (and as per vipers comment unsightly) routing !

I have seen a custom system put on a gixxer WN with triumph swing arm and it was heavy, Looked good though underseat pipes generally suit bikes better with single siders as there is some room to get the pipes through, the CBR's layout I dont think will lend itself to this sort of mod and you may end up spending loads of time/money for a non result, that said if you manage it show us some pics it'll be pretty unique

well i had a bloody good trawl through but couldn't find, someone has started the under seat bit on here before, the used cardboard tube to get a gauge of how complicated and space required for the job, perhaps try the same to visualize it? 05plus(?) 600rr ass end might be a go if you seriously want to do it? as the heat shield mounts/parts are available. but as above what do you gain? if only personal satisfaction why not. we are all here for one love right?

I think they use thinner pipe.
I saw naked cbr600rr and pipe is behind the rearset is thinner. Will try to find a picture.

Humm, yer all good ideas, another reason behind my love of underseat is, i can ride, and never crash.
But i fucking always drop things, ive even forgot footstand once or twice on my 125:( lol
