Petrol taps and starting problems
I have been having some problems with the Keihan petrol tap on my 1994 SF Big One. The diaphragm sometimes becomes dislodged, and sometimes the petrol just stops flowing. Does anyone know if it really needs it. Maybe I can just remove the spring to ensure petrol flow? Or fit another tap. I am also having starting problems, although it is hard to know for absolute certain whether this is linked to the tap problem or not as the plugs are sometimes. There is a spark and the plugs are wet. Thanks.

Re: Petrol taps and starting problems
when i was ruling out some probs on mine i did this
http://www.akhara.com/nc30/fueltapmod/index.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
iv'e now returned mine to normal as my tap works ok either way.. main thing is to remeber if ya wanna try it is to plug the hole on the head... i used the blanking plug from a diesel spilloff pipe kit like this
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DIESEL-LEAK-OFF-S ... 240%3A1318" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
for that instead of a screw as they suggest.. worked a treat

Re: Petrol taps and starting problems
Hi Meno. Thanks for the reply. The akhara suggestion looks fine so i will do it. I got the bike going since last time but it let me down again, running dry when two up, hence with heavier load. Very strange. I will try the cap too. Thanks again.
