Hi mates! noob here..

What is the actual output voltage for NC23 and NC29?

And how to measure it using a multimeter?

you mean, put the red wand of the multimeter on the positive terminal of the battery, and the black wand on the negative terminal of the battery and start it and see what it reads.
should be in the region of 14.5V

if i'm not mistaken, its the voltage output for battery.

what i mean is the coil windings output voltage before the regulator/rectifier regulates it.

On the NC30 it is 50v per coil -3 phase.

similar I would guess on the NC23/29

as cm says it is 50v and they should all be very similar.........

to test it remove the connector coming from the alternator,it will be a female connector.there should be three yellow wires going into this connector.

set the multimeter to ac volts minimum 100 range.start the bike and with it @5000rpm take a reading between two of the three yellow wires,then move one probe onto another yellow wire until you take three seperate readings......

they should be 50volts and all very similar.

if the coil winding needs replacement, what will happen to the reading of the output voltage? is it higher or lower than the usual 50V AC ?

p/s- I'm wondering why Haynes doesnt mention about this...

if it is faulty the readings will be usually lower,much lower!!!!!

the haynes only usually mention the resistance check which is a hit or a miss,when i done the resistance check it showed good results but the voltage check showed three readings of around 30 volts......the stator windings were badly burnt out when i removed it.
