RVF 400 trackday conversion
Hi everyone, new to the forum and this is my first post, so please exscuse any numpty questions!
A couple of general ones, as I am about to undertake a general rebuild/ trackday conversion on my new arrival RVF400 (1998 model),
and would appreciate any help on the following questions;
1. Which rs250 suspension unit is the one to have (mk1, or 2), do they have adjustable rideheight, and do they need any mods to fit ?
2. Which tyres would be best for track use, and should I stick to standard sizes?
3. Once the motors been checked over i'm going to dyno it for a baseline figure, and wondered what to hope for from a standard engine?
4.Does anyone have any pictures of the '98 / '99 Lucky Strike Suzuka 8hr RVF's as I intend to do a replica ?
any help would be appreciated.

1. Sorry, I've no idea,
2. You can stick to standard 150/60 and 120/60 and go for 090's or Alpha 10's, or you can go and get SuperCorsa's in a 160/60 and 120/70 (personally, all I've ever used on the track and road are 090's but I'm fitting SuperCorsa's shortly)
3. High 50's. For a stock motor, exhaust and air filter between 56-58
4. At your request,

to answer number 1
All the RS250 shocks are longer than std so all good to go. 98 or later (I think) are the height adjustable ones)
to fit you need to shave a smidge off the top of the shock and also 1.5mm off either the lower fork or the NC knuckle to make it fit - it will be obvious to you when you have it in your hand.
There are pics out there...I will try to find it when i am back home.
End of the day - get the cheapest you can as you want to rebuild it for your weight and get a new spring for it too..

Not sure about this one?
Does the RS250 shock fit as a replacement on the RVF?
I have it on my VFR and it is the later shock but not too sure about the RVF.

Many thanks Viper for the great pic's.... I take it you've had chance to visit the Honda museum?
I think i'm going to go for one of Ricks rear shocks when funds allow, and as the bike came with a good pair of 090's, I may as well use them for now.
Also in the next week or two i'm going to get a base figure for the engine on a dyno at RJS superbike at Mallory Park, has anyone on the forum used them?
