FZR400 3EN1 - piston options?
It took so long for me to get back here, and unfortunately...things have gone WORSE
(I can't seem to get the embed link from imgur, so no pics, sorry)
One cylinder has been corroded pretty badly from sitting still, the other three seems serviceable. One piston however (the cylinder that liked to smoke) had measured below the minimum size. Honing won't save it, an oversize set has to be the way here. The previous "mechanics" did a number on this one, let alone all the silicone I found at the head gasket
Unfortunately, there are no pistons for these except the set of 4 in some website - costs awfully expensive!
The motor contains 2TK rods, so we cannot use 1WG pistons? The RR/SP pistons looks to be at least 1mm short to the crown and about 5 or 6mm shorter skirts - is it realistic to order pistons from China, mill the cylinder down the difference and retain compression?
Anyone here got some ideas? Or is this the sign to pull the plug? We're at a bad country when it comes to international shipping...so there's that...
Either way...big thanks to everyone here!
