1985 RVF400?

Is this the original RVF400?
From the text it looks to be a 1985 model RVF400, from the same era when Honda first introduced the RVF750 endurance racer. The pictured bike is very different to the HRC-spec NC21's that the book is about.
It looks as though it was (maybe) built to compete in the F3 championship, not sure of the rules then but they must have been pretty open if that was the case?
I'm a bit of a trainspotter when it comes to this older honda 400cc race literature, though some other might appreciate it also.
