help needed
well my indicator buld blew so i replaced that, but in the process i accidently pulled the connectors out, put them back, all worked, but after that i think i might have nudged the regulator (bit that ticks when indicators are on) then I turned off the indies, turned back on, no indicators workin and just double fast ticking so i wiggled lots of connector and when i wiggled the regualtor one the indicators came back on
great i though, just crap connection so took connector out and clean with wd40, reconected and only clicking sound
after repeated attempts to get it going again now the reguator is missing tick's sometimes and sounds a wierd, especially when i do right indications (the indicator i pulled out)
i think it might be this box that is fudged but would greatly appreciate anyone's help, also i desperately need the bike for saturday as i may get a job on the phase one world endurance team as a paddock helper but need to ride 120 miles to summerset to get said job, great oppertunity and good thing for cv with me doing motorsport engineering
So if anyone has one of these regulators if i could buy/borrow it asap so it arrives before saturday that would be amazing, serious debt would be owed
Cheers spike

The indicator relays are pretty hardy, check everything else before you go finding a replacement.
Check the indicator bullet connectors and make sure the l/h switchgear is well clean.
WD40 is not a good electrical cleaner, proper electrical contact spray won't attract muck and is much nicer to your electrics.

like stickshift say's,double check everything before replacing the relay!!!!
the fact it sometimes clicks means it is working but is temperamental, from what you have said though it
does sound like its goosed..........

Hi, have you tried cleaning all the indicator connections? the front ones on mine are a bit dodgey sometimes so i just giz them a wiggle and they come back on (note to self i must fix this before the mot). Try cleaning the connector under the seat hump aswell, it may help.
Cheers

is the relay clicking all the time or is it still intermittent?
take the switchgear apart and see if there is any obvious faults, use a little wd40 or other contact electrical spray in and around the indicator switch and see if that makes any difference.

cleaned the switch gear by blastin wd into the switch, relay not intermitent but after seeking help it seems i have found the problem
i have mini arrow indicators on the rear and their bulbs are 23w and looking at the relay it says for 4 18w bulbs max, so in total im 10w over the max recomended, thats what i was told by the mechanic at the ducati dealership anyway
so iv ordered a new relay from honda (£34!) and am gona try and reduce the wattage of the indicators, looks like a 21w bulb wil fit so if i can reduce the fronts to around 15 watt the total should not overload it again
However iv found another problem in tha same area, the plug connector that goes into the reg/rec one of the yellow alternator cables has pulled out the block and another one looks a bit fraile
...so if anyone has the block connector that goes into the reg/rec with a section of each wire stcking out (only need about 5cm) so i can solderthem onto the original wire a bit further up, im interested in it
all these electrical wiring problems and looking at wiring diagrams has meade me really interested in electric's (never fully uder stood them and thought of them as a black art before) and i really would love to have a go making a wiring loom in the future, perhaps for a future race bike mabe...

ok new relay has come but somthings still up
first battery ran out of power so i trickle charged up for about a day, but now the old relay dosnt even click, same thing witht he new one
im all i can think is its the switch gear so im gona take that apart and clean it up, mabe replace it if that dosnt work (its old and manky anyway so id rather have a new oen that i no works)
so if anyone's good an good condition nc30 left switch gear im interested in it
also got new reg rec block connector coming from Graeme France so that should solve the battery going flat problem
dont you just love honda electric's
