OK, 2 options here, stick with standard ones, or go L-P on the bikes ass and go LED. Now, I need replacement parking light bulbs which seem to be smaller than the dash bulbs, is that correct? If so, what are both sizes?
Secondly, is there such a thing as plug and play LED's or is there an amount of re-wiring involved? If it's the later, then I'll stick with standard. I guess e-Bay or Rick will be the people to get the normal bulbs from then.

:D
Don't know if you can get plug + play leds in this size. Some mods will be required if you want to wire in conventional led bulbs.
Sourcing: In the past I just usually take them into a petrol/gas station or car parts wholesaler and buy a packet.

I made some led replacements some months ago, with vero board, a SMD resistor and a white led. They are still working fine. Can´t find the pics right now...
Anyway, some days ago I bought some T10 wedge LEDs that might fit, and will save me time with the soldering iron. Check out T10 White led at Ibay. I haven´t recieved them yet, when I do I´ll let you know.

That sounds good to me, but T7 bulbs rings a bell. I think the 10's are too wide at the bottom, but let us know how you get on.

T10 are 9mm wide on the base (vs 5mm?), so i will have to file the plastic base thingy the leds are atached to ( or they might fit in the rubber bulb holders). didn´t find any smaller than T10. We´ll see...

Have a look here

I tried some led ones in the instruments but as the light is very directional it did not light them up as well as the normal bulbs, whose light goes in all directions.
For side-lights led bulbs are okay though.
