NC35 Tool Kit strap fitting

Post by GrahamReeves »

Hi, would anyone be able to post a pic or tell me how the rubber band goes to secure the OE tool kit please. I can see a slot in the side of the rectangular box where the tool kit sits but can figure out how the rubber strap goes! Thanks in advance

Sorry Graham, can't help you, my NC35 didn't come with a tool kit or strap. Hopefully another NC35 owner will supply the info you're after.

Maybe if you take a look here it might help.
https://www.fowlersparts.co.uk/parts/55 ... ear-fender

There seem to be two parts, no.4 and no.9 that mention the word tool.

No. 9 looks to be the strap that holds the battery so maybe ignore that I guess.

No.4 looks like it's a spring clip that fits into a corresponding cut-out in the rear fender, just outside of the "walled off box" area

(tool pack is here https://www.fowlersparts.co.uk/parts/55 ... 400rr/tool)

So my guess would be that the tool pack is held down by the clip immediately in front of that box area

Hi, thanks for reply. Number 4 is the rubber band that secures the tool kit. In the compartment where the tool kit goes there's a slot that the rubber band fits to but nothing that I can see on the other side of the slot to strap it down with.

What about that flange where no. 7 is pointing to?

Thanks, no there's nothing obvious near to where the kit fits. I found this video that shows the tool kit in place but it looks like the rubber band has just been wrapped round it and not secured.... https://youtu.be/nb1E7bWw1cI?feature=shared if you look from around 1:40 in on the video. You can see the slot for the band.

Is that slot deep enough to take two coils of band?

i.e. does the band start in the slot, wraps around the kit then returns back to the slot?
