My NC24 i bought 6 weeks ago, was running, but difficult to start, and with a big low down flat spot.
After posting on here and receiving lots of help and guidance it's now running great and i'm thoroughly enjoying it!
I took the plunge and took it to my local bike shop (Powerlinks in Ringwood).
As it was going to be carbs off and clean/balance them I thought what the hell and got the valve clearances done as well...just for peace of mind.
Result, wallet £235 lighter, but bike now running brilliantly! Well worth the professional touch! The problem with cold starting was that the chokes were not moving fully, and were only partially on, even though choke lever was fully on. Carbs were out of balance as well. Valve clearances? All spot on! So after 15,000 miles they were either perfect from new still (likely?) or they have been checked previously.
I now have a bike which has cost £880, has T&T for a year and is running great! I think that is not a lot of money for a really fun bike.
So thanks to all of you who replied to my first posting, you have been a great help, and have created a grey bike convert!!
Trouble is I'm now hooked on this grey lark! I always use my NC24 because it's so easy to get out of the garage and wheel around past the cars. My 1996 Triumph sprint is now redundant! Soooo..... Anyone out there fancy a metallic red 1996 'N' reg 900 Sprint triple, 28,000 miles and in absolutely lovely conditon in exchange for a similar value and condition grey??
I'd consider a CB1, superfour, Bandit, gsx(r), etc etc. Even a 250cc as opposed to a 400. Anyone with anything that may be of interest let me know!
my email is markhowells75@hotmail.com if anyone has anything of interest...i'll obviously send any interested people pics and full details of my Triumph.
Ps not sure if this is the best place for asking about the above, so if I have offended anyone with a swap offer in this section I am sorry, please feel free to point me in the right direction/location!
