Dog leg Levers - Do both clutch and Brake hit the fairing?

Hiya All,

RE:NC29 - Dog leg Levers - Do both clutch and Brake hit the fairing?

I remember someone telling me that at full turn, the modified Puzzi Dog leg Levers actually touches the front fairing. Fine for Race bikes, or the experienced - you never turn that much. But not good for a newbie bike - we do the strangest things!

Is this hitting the fairing for both sides though??

It has hit me. I only need it for the Clutch side. (Small hands - clutch not fully dis-engages, before my Hand comfortably lets go. A problem on a long ride - tired hand, clutch controls suffers and bike does lurches on careless gear changes etc!)

I reckon a bit of tinkering before summer 2009 arrives!

Hope you can advise!
Cheers
Martin

PS:
I would have rang up GF about this straight away - but its the holidays for christ sake! leave the poor chap alone! 8)

Make sure your clutch lever is at the right angle, to far up and you get wrist cramp!

Chris.

Good Point Chris! I'll take a look!

Thinking about it, would just one dog log lever on a bike just look wrong, or would you even notice?

Do people do both or not at all?

for race.. no problem..
for road.. MOT failure.

even on a U turn you dont quite lock the steering. i do find when i wheel the bike i use full lock.. and TBH if something fouls the fairings on my bike= paint job damage!

Hiya LP,

Long time no Speak! (I rode the CBR4 last weekend and I'm totally bike mad again! 8) )

Good points

I'm hoping the Clutch side is ok though. I'm really struggling with the "Wide Hand" clutch lever - tried doing the adjustments - no luck.

there is a cheat or 2.... only *if* your going to MOT it..
you can drill a hold through the steering stops, put a thread in the holes and then a bolt. adjust the bolt to lock the steering before they levers hit... after MOT..remove the bolts.
another way would be to make a spacer to lock the steering that slots over the lock stops to avoid drilling holes.

from memory you can get proper steering stops that just bolt on from hrc..there maybe another manufacture doing them also
