Hi, Im new to this site and need some help. I have a honda CB400 Super Four and in a bit of a tizzy about insurance, as found out that my bike is a grey import and will that make my insurance invalid that I already have?? So what should I do? How easy is it to find insurance for an import??

Your advice and help will be helpful,

Thank you Gem

it may make the premium go up a small small bit because the way insurers percieve it is that because its an import parts will be hard to find, which is in fact far from the truth. i have never ever ever had problems getting bits for my VFR400

Being a grey import shouldn't be too much of a problem, most insurance companies will take grey imports but there are a few who don't. Do you currently have bike insurance? Check with them first as you might be fine and as declan says you might need to pay a little extra, otherwise do a go compare search or similar, personally i've been with Express since I started riding and they have always managed to get the price down lower or same as the lowest price on search engines, Biketeam are also very reliable and inexpensive. Good luck shopping around

Hi and welcome to the site.

I passed my test in November and bought an NC23 2 weeks later, managed to get her insured 15 minutes after she got dropped off. I got my insurance from Dialdirect through Confused.com, and one of the questions they ask is whether the bike is an import or not. It was really quick and easy and only cost me £160 TPFT.

Good Luck

Jo

I'm an old git (compared to some of you lot), and it costs me normally £115 TPFT. Bikesure cover greys as do many others including Carole Nash
