Do blue spot (there acually silver) type calipers from a FZ1 fazer fit staight on a fzr 3tj?

No.
The 3TJ calipers are 83-85mm and the Blue Spots (which are actually silver) are 100mm bolt spacings. They bolt straight up to The 3en's though.

So I guess you want better braking then ... Clean the original calipers and use EBC HH pads, with braided steel lines and a Brembo (or similar) Radial Master cylinder. You can use the the original resorvior and tube but the Brembo master has a wider bore pipe than the Yamaha item and it's hard to get it on there. Use 5.1 fluid.
I used a 19x20 (I think) and to be honest it's a bit strong and lacks a little feel so maybe a 19x18 ratio would be better although you could get one of those adjustable ones.

Remember calipers don't add a lot of stregth to the system.

You can fit Blue Spot calipers to the 3TJ if you use FZR1000 fork sliders on the 3TJ fork tubes.

The 89-90 EXUP1000 forks are 43mm in diameter and the sliders have the 100mm calliper mounting points.
I think it was a guy on here called Lee who first did the conversion.
It also means you can run the thou' front wheel and brake discs, which are (if i remember corectly) 320mm.

But you don't need 320mm discs on a 400 especially if you've uprated the brakes already. The R6 only uses 300mm and the blue spot calipers afterall. your just adding unsprung weight and therefor more gyroscopic force

It was me! I did it because I had the parts lying around for free :D as I am a former breaker of FZR1000s and had a few bits that I had not sold.

You need the 1000 89-92 front wheel (wider hub than the 3TJ), 320mm disks, blue spots obviously & the 89-90 sliders. I also used the damper cartridges out of the 1000 to stiffen up the front, to complement the R6 shock (American bargain when we had $2:£1) and extension that I think came from Oollit via ebay.

It now stops and handles very well .

It will also go well soon with the 600 foxeye engine. Almost finished it

Thank's guys it was a straight for my TRX not the FZR I must of been thinking of "doh".
I've already got pfm disc's & pads with a Brembo master cylinder, I just wanted some better looking calipers as mine are very scruffy.

I bought them anyway. I got a set of blue spots & an r6 rear caliper for £32!

Cool there's less flex in them ... apparently.

You'll need some plates if you keep the standard RR forks, not sure about the rear but it would be interesting if it fits
