NC30 Exhaust Systems....what and where?

I'm sure this will set off all the repost alarms but i did do a search but probably not properly  !!!

so, i am aware of many brands of exhaust system, ethos, yamamoto, micron, tyga etc etc....

all i know is that you can buy a tyga one from their website. but they're like £360!!!

so where could i get a system from? anyone wanna flog me one  any other sites that sell them? or is it a case of watching ebay??

also, whats the advantage with a 1/2 system? is it just ease of fitment? ? or does it mean you can keep the radiator fan in place?

i run 120/122 jetting and its over fueling so badly atm (straight through stubby scorpion race can)....but i need to keep the bike another year so i figure ill dyno it when ive done what i want to it, i want an exhaust system!!! and idea how much bigger jetting wise ill have to increase???

finally my nc30 is nearly 20 years old now...would it be an epic struggle to remove the standard system i have on there? where could i get new exhaust bolts from? (because they'll probably break wont they!)

Well based on the fact that you often get good condition yamamoto/ethos systems come up on ebay for around £100-£150, £360 is a bit steep. We don't all have your budget RVF ;)

Just keep an eye out on ebay blackbird, or contact Ensie27 on this site. He has contacts in Japan who can get you stuff for a good price from the Japan yahoo auctions.

i know £360 isnt that much really, but my VFR cost me less than a grand to buy....so i dunno....if i spent £360 on a system it would be like 40% the value of the bike....

i wouldnt mind spending £200 i guess.... ill have to check Ebay now and then i suppose....so is Tyga the only exhaust you can just buy from a manufacturer nowadays then?

seen as i realised i cant get another bike beacuse im still 33bhp i do want to do a few things to my VFR....

SP-1 calipers are back on the list, full or half system, different fairing possibly, levers....

just hoping to make it a bit different, maybe a bit faster.

ive got to get the carbs balanced and the valves done as well....but i suppose i should do that after i get a system on her....well the carb balancing at least....valves are due soon!

get the calipers! iv just fitted them with a master cylinder and praided lines and there amazing, then if you want get track treck levers (half the price of pazzo's) and then sort the suspension (that next on my list)

there is often stuff popping up on here for sale so keep an eye out

there are often systems for sale which are std apart from the end can.

A common place for std systems to rot out is the join/ collars between front and rear pipes - you can get these sorted/welded easilly enough.

I have a system like this in my shed which requires the new welds if you are interested.

Cheers Smev

ive already got a standard system with a straight through scorpion race can on...

im after an aftermarket performance exhaust system though....looking for a few more ponies...

and about calipers....im still kicking myself about when i missed a set going for £26!!!!

i was looking at trac tech levers yesterday because i found the thread on here....its either going to be a set of them or some Tyga ones i think...

i quite like the black tyga ones....but im afraid the black finish will wear off over time...

to be honest only a few horse is what you'll get that if your lucky, and considering you think tygas full system at £360 is expensive how much are you prepared to spend on dyno time to make the most of a system if you get one,and dyno time isn't cheap,if you price a system at £200 i'd write off at least £125 for setting it up or else the £200 for the system was wasted.

ok you could listen to us on here and get it in a rough ball park but to be honest what do we know and what works for one bike doesn't work for them all,i tried the 1mm shim under my needles and the 2.5mm hole on my slides and one bike loved it and the other clean refused to run properly.

and to top it off some of the best running nc30's i'd ridden had standard chopped systems with end cans,ie vipers blue flame can,my old jap carbon one and hannas' alloy one he wrecked at kirkistown.

I still maintain that it was the best sounding single can I've had fitted to my bike.
