Hey Gents, quick question, do you have to spray on some kind of seal layer to the surfaces of a new head gasket? old gaskets had a black sort of rubber layer on the aluminium gasket, new ones are just aluminium.

the manual only mentions fitting the new gasket,there is no reference to using any other type of gasket seal.

New ones should have the sealing layer on too - black on OE gaskets, usually silver on pattern ones...
