Restricting nc35 rev limit

Does anyone know if it's possible to derestrict the nc35 rev limit of 14.5k while using standard cdi and nothing plugged into the harness? My bike goes to 15.5k and maybe more, isn't restricted by speed etc.. i don't even know if my rev limit works lol

Wondering if it's possible to put it back to prevent damage from miss-shifts..

There is a soft rev limit and a hard rev limit - on the tandard CDI

You want to be very sure you don't have a chinese knock off CDI in there as there were some reports of no limits....

Yes as above-
I had a Chinese copy cdi which had no rev limit and blew my engine.
The one I had was stamped with Chinese writing on the end opposite the plug. Apart from that it was blank

Righto, thanks guys going to check the cdi when i get a chance.. i hope i haven't been using a dodgy one all this time

Had a look at the cdi, it says 'Oki Electric industry/Made in Japan' on the end opposite the plug, it's blank otherwise.
Would this mean it's standard??

Sounds standard then - everything else as per the factory? You sure it doesn't have a limit?

I had it at 15.5k or a little above due to a miss shift, bike still rides fine though. I would prefer no valve float lol but i guess these bikes take a bit

I mean when i first got it there were two tiny wires just twisted together on the right hand side of the radiator, dont think anything is plugged inline with the harness.

Rev limiter, if there is one, will be in the ignition unit. There could/should be a speed limiter that has circuitry in the speedo connected directly to the ignition unit via the main loom. " two tiny wires just twisted together on the right hand side of the radiator" means little without at least color codes.

15.5k on your tacho will be more like 14-14.5k

It's a black wire going to a white/brown wire coming from a headlight plug.. I honestly don't know what it is the black wire was twisted together near the radiator..

Uhh, so it would have to be the ignition unit causing no rev limit? If i had a stock bike revved to 14.5k the rev limit would cut in right?

Would a corrected tacho at 14.5k rpm be safe or should i just leave it as stock?
