Forkin fork springs

Hi all, working my way through my NC30 and have got to the forks. I have an 89 Seed NC30 with older type forks and upon dismantling them found that there are no spacers in them. I have found a receipt, from 2002, for Hagon progressive springs amongst all the paperwork that came with the bike. The springs in the forks are 450mm long, does anyone know if they should have spacers or they don't need them with the Hagon springs?

If the springs are longer than stock, and stiffer than stock, then in theory no spacers are required. If you get the sag you need, you're fine. You can always add spacers.

Ciao,

As a guess, I would say at that length of spring it would not have a spacer in. I am only going off my NSR forks (that are very similar to early NC forks) that I have in bits now. NSR forks are a bit longer than NC forks and my spring and spacer would measure around 450mm together......

Thanks for the replies. I have been on the Hagon website and they only have one set of instructions for every type of bike or at least that's how I understand it. Tighter wound springs at the top and if the springs reach the top don't add spacers! The only other info I found is that for the NC30 use 7.5w oil and have an air gap of 130mm. We shall see how that goes I guess. Thanks again.

If anyone's interested there are spacers with the springs. They are about an inch long and made of plastic, I didn't realise what they were when I took the forks apart some time ago. Must pay more attention!
